Child Care of Southwest Florida received a $25,000 grant from The League Club to support needs-based tuition scholarships at its early learning centers in Lee County.
The grant will provide the families of more than 60 students with preschool scholarship assistance, empowering at-risk children with affordable, high-quality early learning opportunities. The funding also helps remove financial constraints that allow parents to pursue, maintain and enhance their careers while furthering their child’s education.
“This $25,000 grant will make a meaningful difference for families in our community by providing children with access to the quality learning experiences they deserve. Investing in early childhood education is investing in our future, and together, we can ensure every child has access to opportunities that will help them thrive,” said Chris Hansen, CEO of Child Care of Southwest Florida.
As a nonprofit, Child Care of Southwest Florida partners with local charitable foundations and businesses to offer quality early learning programs at a reduced rate to families in Lee and Hendry counties.
“These grants directly impact the needs of at-risk adults and children in the areas of housing, food scarcity, education, physical and mental health, and the arts. The League Club is inspired by the passion and dedication of its members and donors who make this commitment possible,” said Donna Lindberg, president of The League Club.
This year, The League Club selected and awarded grants totaling $762,412 to 34 area nonprofit organizations. For the past 38 years, The League Club has provided over $8 million in grants to 222 nonprofit organizations in Collier and Lee counties that support children, families, the elderly and veterans. Funding for grants comes from the TLC’s Community Trust Fund, which is raised through The League Club’s annual fundraiser, Naples Tables, and from the generosity of members and donors.
Child Care of Southwest Florida is accredited through the National Accreditation Commission for Early Learning Leaders and is a Gold Seal Quality Care Program through the Florida Department of Children and Families. Additionally, centers maintain five-star ratings through the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida.
