Habitat for Humanity of Collier County received a $76,000 grant from The League Club to support construction of a playground at the Las Palmas community in Collier County. Habitat officials said the playground will provide a shaded recreational space for about 500 children living in the neighborhood. Naples-based philanthropic organization The League Club has supported Habitat Collier since 2001 and has contributed nearly $300,000 to the nonprofit’s housing initiatives over the years. Habitat said the new playground is intended to create additional opportunities for children and families within the Las Palmas community.
