Hello Ladies of The League Club

 Leslie Stahl, Her Stories Today
FUNDRAISER NETS $322,672 FOR GRANTS
IN 2019

We are happy to announce that Lesley Stahl, Her Stories Today, resulted in Community Trust Fund grant distribution funds of $322,672.

Next spring, after our Community Involvement Committee completes its work, The League Club will have distributed approximately Four and A Half Million Dollars to deserving agencies in Collier and Lee Counties!
Our 156 Circle of Friends members and community sponsors should be proud of their work to further develop our commitment to community.

Congratulations and many thanks to President Liz Winebrenner, Gigi Stewart, Jane Stone, Katherine Caskey, and Denise Cazobon and their committees for helping make this possible!

CIC IN ACTION

Each year the actions of our Community Involvement Committee result in the awarding of grants to approximately 30 community agencies.  The process of reviewing grant requests, site visits, and thorough vetting of each agency is both arduous and rewarding.  So that League Club members can learn a little bit about each of our 2018 grantees and how funds will be used, we will highlight one agency per week in our weekly eblast.  Look for the title "CIC IN ACTION" Following is our first installment.

Giggles and Grins from Guadalupe Center

The CIC has awarded a 2018 grant to the Guadalupe Center to help support their new Smart Start Program. This program extends the reach of Guadalupe’s early childhood education by providing educational support to 50 additional families in the Immokalee community.  It enriches the learning of preschool children during the critical years of learning development and works towards having these children ready for Kindergarten.

Each child in the program receives a free book to take home.  Often this is the only children’s book in the home. The program also supports the parents by teaching them how to interact with their child in an educator-guided, curriculum-based series of activities. The happiness on everyone’s face is clear. This program is a winner.
