The League Club’s annual Naples Tables fundraiser staged both a sold-out evening pre-party and the sold-out Feb. 26 luncheon this year, with more than 50 designed tables and a talk with TV star designer-author Vern Yip. Designers’ ingenuity ranged from magic forests and tropical fluorescence to a celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, complete with portable copies of the Constitution for that table’s diners. It’s the major fundraiser for The League Club, an organization of current and former Junior League members whose mission is to strengthen communities — and its fundraisers have done that continuously, distributing $8 million among local nonprofits in its 39 years here. The organization’s work is committed to supporting the environment, education, children and families.
